Carrot-Chana Dal Egg Chilla

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup split Bengal gram (chana dal)
  • 1 whole egg
  • 2-3 green chilies, finely chopped
  • 1-inch piece of ginger, grated
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 1 carrot, grated
  • Fresh coriander leaves, finely chopped

Instructions

  1. Soak chana dal in water for 4-6 hours. Drain and rinse.
  2. Blend the soaked dal with green chilies, ginger, and salt to make a coarse paste.
  3. Mix in egg, chopped onions, grated carrots, and coriander leaves.
  4. Heat a non-stick pan, grease it with oil, and pour a ladleful of batter.
  5. Spread the batter evenly to make a thin pancake.
  6. Cook until crispy and golden brown on both sides.
  7. Serve hot with a side of green chutney.
