Bottle Gourd Kofta

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup Bottle Gourd, grated
  • 1 medium Onion, chopped
  • 1 medium Tomato, chopped
  • 5 tsp Bengal Gram Flour
  • 1 dsp Rice Flour
  • 2 dsp Oil
  • 1 tbsp Ginger Paste
  • 1 tsp Garlic Paste
  • 2 tsp Coriander Powder
  • 1 tsp Cumin Seed Powder
  • 1 Green Chili, chopped
  • 1/2 tsp Red Chili Powder
  • 1/4 tsp Turmeric Powder
  • 1/4 tsp Fenugreek Seeds
  • 1/4 tsp Black Pepper Powder
  • 1/4 tsp Garam Masala
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Grate bottle gourd and chop green chillies, tomatoes, onions, and coriander leaves.
  2. Mix grated bottle gourd with gram flour, rice flour, salt, and turmeric powder. Form into small balls.
  3. Deep fry the kofta balls in hot oil until golden brown. Drain and set aside.
  4. Heat 1 dsp oil in a pan and sauté onions until golden brown.
  5. Add ginger-garlic paste and spices, stir well and cook for a few minutes.
  6. Add chopped tomatoes and cook until the moisture evaporates.
  7. Pour in 1 cup of water and simmer until the gravy thickens.
  8. Add the fried koftas to the gravy, mix well, and turn off the heat.
  9. Garnish with chopped coriander leaves and serve hot.
